Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday’s draw were 11, 13, 26 and 29. Jackpot of €3,500 not won. This week’s four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Mary & Olly Ryan c/o Ann Treanor Pat McCaughey c/o Séamus Treanor; Joe Tracey c/o Paudge Connolly; and Brian O’Sullivan c/o ClubZap. The sellers’ prize of €20 was won by Eileen McElvaney. Jackpot for Sunday, August 23 is €3,600. Thanks to everyone for continuing to support our Lotto and to the committee and the regular helpers for their efforts in keeping the show on the road and providing essential funding towards our development work over the last three decades. We would greatly appreciate if every family involved in the club would consider setting up a recurring Lotto entry via ClubZap. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Summer camp: Gavan Duffy Park was a hive of activity throughout last week as a great crowd of boys and girls enjoyed our in-house summer camp. Thanks to everyone who attended throughout the week and well done to our coaches, stewards and coaching committee for all their efforts.

IFC: We fell short with a late comeback away to Ballybay in round two of the Intermediate Football Championship group stage last Saturday. Gary Devlin, Seán Callan, Fionán Ó Gallchóir, Éimhín Morahan and Dean Doherty were on target during the first half, but we trailed by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break and Ballybay moved seven clear on 35 minutes. Points by Ethan McCaffrey, Fionán and Éimhín helped keep us in touch and two-pointers by Daragh Croarkin and Seán brought us within touching distance late on, but Ballybay kicked a couple of late scores to seal a 0-19 to 0-15 win.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin (0-4, 2 2-pt-f); Ethan McCaffrey (0-1), Shane Moran, Jake McConnon; Nicholas Scott, Kevin Loughran, Dean Doherty (0-1); Lochlainn Power (Capt.), Dylan McKenna; Michael Galligan, Seán Callan (0-3, 1 2-pt-f, 1 ‘45), Gary Devlin (0-1); Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-2), Éimhín Morahan (0-3, 1f), John McCrystal.

Subs used: Dara Mullin; Kevin Moran; Oisín Fagan; Conor McCrystal.

We host Doohamlet this Sunday at 5pm. All support appreciated.

Reserves: Our Division 3B team pipped Aughnamullen in a tight finish last Sunday. We led by 0-9 to 0-5 at half-time and we enjoyed a strong start to the second half, helped by a Mark Lynch goal. Aughnamullen rallied to go a point up late on, but an excellent two-point free by Shane McGarry won it for us by the narrowest of margins.

Team and scorers: Jason McHugh; Zach Mallen, John Sherry, Gregory O’Connell; Francis Lynch, Shay Lambe (0-1), Ali Galligan; Mark Clerkin, Mark Lynch (1-0); Luke Coyle, Shane McGarry (0-4, 1 2-pt-f), Colm Shalvey (0-1); Eoin Sheridan (0-2), Shay Cooney (0-1), Niall Greenan (0-1).

Subs used: Conor Farmer; Dáire McKenna; Killian Conlon; Adam McGarry.

Minors: Our minors lost out to Rock Sarsfields in the Division Two Shield Final in Killeevan last Thursday. A slow start left us playing catch-up to a clinical Rock Sarsfields side and although we showed some spirit with goals from Charlie O’Brien, Ruairí Smyth and converted full-forward Alex Flynn, it was too late to change the result. We wish Joe Gunn a speedy recovery from his injury.

Team and scorers: Alex Flynn (2-0); Ruairí Smyth (1-0), Andrew McKenna, Odhrán Kelly; Cillian McKenna, Liam Ginley, Seán Lambe; Conor Farmer (Capt.), Kyle Lavery (0-1f); Cayden McDonnell, Charlie O’Brien (1-0), Calum McCaffrey; Rhys Coyle, Joseph O’Neill, Deagan Doherty.

Subs used: Joe Gunn (Capt.); Daniel Treanor; Kyron Coughlan; Darragh Garvey; Séadanta Ó Grianna (0-2f).

U-16: Our next U-16 Division One championship game is against Donaghmoyne on August 27. The Division Four championship continues the following evening v Scotstown.

U-14: Our U-14 Division Five team host Castleblayney in a championship semi-final this Sunday morning at 11am. Hard luck to our Division Seven team, who lost out to Emyvale in last Thursday’s semi-final

U-12: Our U-12 teams took on Donaghmoyne and Scotstown earlier this week.
