Thanks to everyone for continuing to support our Lotto and to the committee and the regular helpers for their efforts in keeping the show on the road and providing essential funding towards our development work over the last three decades. IFC: We exited the Intermediate Football Championship with a quarter-final loss to Clones in Scotstown last Saturday. We got off to a flying start, with scores by John McCrystal, Shea Corrigan and Fionán Ó Gallchóir making it 1-5 to 0-0, but a couple of goals brought Clones back into it by the end of the first half. Daragh Croarkin, Oisín Fagan and Michael McMorrow added their names to the scoresheet as we led by 1-11 to 2-4 at the break, but a purple patch midway through the second half saw Clones move ahead. Seán Callan hit 1-1 down the home stretch as we regained the lead, but in a frantic finish, Clones responded to win by 3-16 to 2-17. Thanks to our manager John Moylan, coaches Emmett Hackett and Jack Brogan, selector Mel McMorrow, backroom team and to our players for their efforts throughout the season.

Féile Peile Ógie: Gavan Duffy Park was a hive of activity on Saturday as the club hosted the second year of ‘Féile Peile Ógie’. The event, held in memory of the late Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, was a celebration of youth football and community spirit, which fittingly honoured the memory of a young man who inspired so many during his life. 20 U-12 teams travelled to Gavan Duffy Park for a full day of football, with teams from across Ulster, Leinster and Connacht showcasing their skills, teamwork and love for the game. Full report next week.
Meetings: The club’s monthly meeting for October takes place in the clubhouse on Thursday at 8pm. Our AGM is scheduled for Thursday, November 12.
Mothers & Others: Best wishes from all in the club to our Harps Mothers & Others as they prepare to head to New York to participate in the LGFA Festival of Football Blitz.
