Monaghan Harps Lotto: The numbers for last Sunday’s draw were 5, 14, 19 and 20. Jackpot of €1,100 not won. This week’s four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were: Lily & Laila O’Donnell c/o Marian O’Brien; Hugh McKenna c/o Maria McKenna; Shane Coyle c/o ClubZap; and Brendan McMahon c/o Séamus Treanor. The sellers’ prize of €20 was won by Séamus Treanor. Jackpot for Sunday, October 18 is €1,200. Thanks to everyone for continuing to support our Lotto and to the committee and the regular helpers for their efforts in keeping the show on the road and providing essential funding towards our development work over the last three decades. We would greatly appreciate if every family involved in the club would consider setting up a recurring Lotto entry via ClubZap. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday.

Féile Peile Ógie: Gavan Duffy Park was a hive of activity on October 3 as the club hosted the second year of ‘Féile Peile Ógie’. The event, held in memory of the late Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, was a celebration of youth football and community spirit, which fittingly honoured the memory of a young man who inspired so many during his life. 20 U-12 teams travelled to Gavan Duffy Park for a full day of football. Inniskeen won the Cup with a narrow win over Dromintee, while the Armagh club also reached the Shield Final, which was won by the Harps. In the Plate decider, Ballyteague from Kildare emerged on top against Currin. Thanks to all the clubs who travelled from near and far to be part of the day; well done to the winning teams, including our own U-12s on their Shield victory; and thanks to our club members who rowed in to make it another successful tournament.

Open night: Join us for our 3K Family Fun Run as we celebrate the fantastic improvements to our club facilities, this Saturday, October 17! We’re delighted to welcome back some of our 1970s players, who will have the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially start our run at 6.30pm, starting at the Harps and running along the greenway. The highlight of the evening will see everyone make their way onto the pitch for the big switch-on of our new floodlights! Then it’s back to the clubhouse for Tapas & Tunes from 7.15pm! Whether you walk, jog or run, everyone is welcome! Come along, bring the family and help us celebrate this exciting new chapter for our club.

Meetings: The club’s monthly meeting for October takes place in the clubhouse on Thursday at 8pm. Our AGM is scheduled for Thursday, November 12 and nomination forms are now available to club members from our secretary, Claire Ní Dhufaigh.

Mothers & Others: Well done from all in the club to our Harps Mothers & Others for representing club and county in the LGFA Festival of Football Blitz in New York. We hope you all had a fantastic time!
