DIL: Darkness Into Light, the annual fundraiser for Pieta House, brought a big crowd out and about in ideal conditions early last Saturday morning. As ever, our club members rowed in behind the event, supporting the committee chaired by Úna Forde and Nicola Shalvey, who have capably picked up where Seán McKenna left off. Thanks very much to everyone involved. 

IFL: We hosted Ballybay on Saturday in the Intermediate Football League. A John McCrystal goal and points from Shea Corrigan, Conor McCrystal and Michael Galligan left us trailing by the minimum at half-time: 1-3 to 0-7. John’s second goal and points by Seán Callan, Fionán Ó Gallchóir and Liam Hahessy saw us lead for most of the second half, but Ballybay battled back in the end for a draw on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-13.

Reserves: Our Division 3B team got off the mark in the league with a hard-earned win at home to Killanny on Sunday.

Minors: Next Tuesday’s game is against Patrick Ógs in Smithborough. 

 

U-16: Our U-16 Division One team had a good win away to Magheracloone last Thursday. Our Division Four lads kept their good run going with a win over Inniskeen on Friday.

 

U-14: Our U-14s had another busy weekend, starting with a one-point loss away to Magheracloone (Division One) and a win over Scotstown (Division Seven). The Division Five lads lost out to Scotstown on Sunday. 

U-12: Our U-12s will compete in Divisions One and Six in the upcoming leagues. The Division One league starts with a home game v Truagh on Saturday, before the Division Six lads head to Cremartin on Sunday morning. 

 

County: Best of luck to Seán Callan, Luke McManus and all involved with the county seniors in Sunday’s Ulster SFC Final. 

 

Sympathy: At the club’s monthly meeting for May, our committee passed a vote of sympathy to the family of Brian Kelly. We also keep the families of Marie Farrell and Brigid Duffy in our thoughts and prayers on the sad news of their passing. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
